October 25th, 2022

When it comes to security cameras, it does not matter if you are a mom and pop store or a mega-corporation, you want to get the camera that works best for your needs. There is much closed-circuit television (CCTV) to choose from and each has its own benefits. Your number one consideration is will the camera you choose gives you proper security coverage.

Top Security Cameras For Your Business

To determine what you may need in the line of security cameras you need, take a good look at your Houston business. Do you need to monitor the parking lot as well as around the building? What about the entrances and exits to deter shoplifters? Do you need to place one in a storage room, cash register to deter employee theft? Look around your building outside and inside to help you decide what camera will work in a certain location.

Bullet Cameras:

Named because of thier long, cylindrical shape that looks similar to a bullet, these are ideal for using outside. Due to their protective casings, they are shielded from different weather conditions. They can be fitted with a fixed or zoom lens, IR night vision, and high-quality video resolution. On the negative side, because they are noticeable, they are targets for vandalism.

Dome Security Cameras:

Dome security cameras are similar to a bullet camera in that they work well indoors as well as outdoors for surveillance. Also called a “ceiling camera” their small dome shape makes it difficult for intruders to determine which way the camera is facing. In addition to their wide-angle lens, infrared (IR) night vision, they are resistant to vandalism.

C-Mount Security Cameras:

C-mount cameras were the first security cameras developed and were introduced in the 1970s. But it still has many positives. C-mount cameras come with detachable lenses, can cover distances greater than 40 feet. Most standard camera lenses cover 30 to 40 feet maximum. Another benefit is that they can be upgraded to support the newest in technology, and work effectively in indoor locations.

Day to Night Security Cameras:

Day to Night Security Cameras are able to work both in normal light situations and in poorly lit environments. With extra sensitive imaging chips, they can capture clear video images in the dark without requiring any built-in infrared illuminators. This feature is ideal for outdoor surveillance. Another benefit is that they come in several sizes and record data in both black and white.

Pan/Tilt/Zoom (PTZ) Cameras:

PTZ cameras allow the security camera to pan (move from right to left) tilt (move up and down) and zoom according to your needs. PTZ cameras are usually used in situations where there is live security or a security specialist operating the system. May businesses like these cameras for their high-quality image resolution, X36 optical zoom and 200 Infra-red night vision.

If you’re still not sure what camera is best for your Houston business a professional security expert can help you.  A security professional can review with you and determine what areas of your business would benefit most from surveillance, what type of camera to use, and how to use the camera to truly protect your property.

"Steve I just wanted to thank you and your partner Ray Kindsfather for the fine work you men did installing the security cameras around my home. The quality of the pictures is excellent, the clarity in day or infrared mode is exactly what I was looking for. What good is a camera if you can't identify the person and these cameras will greatly assist the police in identifying a perpetrator. The computer side of the job is easy and fast with very little adjustment time for me in finding what I want to see. Software and hardware get A+++++ no doubt about. The Ring is equally easy to use and the quality of the camera is equally strong. The installation was clean and fast. You maintain a clean site, it’s like you were never here. You answered all my questions with pin point accuracy. Integrity suits you well. Your answers were honest and to the point. Refreshing in today’s world. All and all you and Ray make a strong team at DWS Technology LLC. I have no problem recommending you to friend or family, home or business. God bless you both with your business. I will call you for future installations. "

"Ray, in reviewing several different security cameras there were many good products, but none met my criteria of clarity and no long-term contract. Raymond, you showed me one product that caught my attention with the clarity and distance viewing that I could not get with other systems. The zoom after a few feet became distorted with the other systems but with the Alibi NVR package you demoed, we could zoom in and out with clarity which made this product stand out from all the rest. The NVR system is so simple, in fact, anyone can configure the system to suit their needs. You can monitor your home from your smartphone or tablet and having security cameras makes it a great deterrent for criminal activity. DWS Technology delivered as promised! Your installation crew worked clean and treated my home as if it was their own. Great attention to detail! I will recommend DWS Technology to anyone! Great job guys!"
